The Stone of Madness game description
Discover the Madness in the Stone of Madness
From the creators of the acclaimed Blasphemous series, The Stone of Madness invites players into a captivating real-time tactical stealth experience set within a historic 18th-century Spanish Monastery. Nestled in the Pyrenees, this aging Jesuit sanctuary harbors a madhouse and an inquisitorial prison. Five tormented prisoners, each grappling with their own despair and madness, unite their abilities to confront their fears, uncover the monastery's secrets, and plot their daring escape.

With the determination to break free, characters Agnes, Leonora, Eduardo, Amelia, and Alfredo each bring unique, upgradeable skills to the table. Players can switch between these five characters to cast spells, eliminate foes, distract guards, stun malevolent spirits, navigate challenging terrains, and more.

Venture through the eerie surroundings and cleverly combine the characters’ abilities to unearth clues and essential items hidden within the monastery. However, tread carefully; if caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, the guards will show no mercy.

Each character is burdened with their own distinct traumas and fears. To successfully navigate the monastery, players must be vigilant about the mental well-being of each character.

As characters confront their fears, their sanity may wane, triggering traumatic events that lead to consequences like paranoia, aggression, or dementia; these changes will significantly alter gameplay dynamics.

Choose between two immersive campaigns, each offering unique narratives, objectives, and unexpected twists.
In The Stone of Madness, time flows continuously, making every decision impactful. Players must be strategic about their actions and timing.

Daytime is ideal for sneaking, exploring, and gathering resources, as guards are more easily distracted. However, as night falls, the supernatural denizens of the monastery emerge, threatening the characters’ sanity.
Nighttime is best spent strategizing and refining escape plans. Players who dare to explore after hours will face heightened security and vigilant guards, but sometimes, the greatest risks yield the most significant rewards.

The stunning visuals of The Stone of Madness are meticulously hand-painted and animated frame by frame, drawing inspiration from the works of 18th-century artist Francisco De Goya.

The game’s isometric view beautifully showcases these striking visuals, immersing players in an adventure that feels as if they are traversing through a living Goya masterpiece.
